With half of the world’s oil and roughly 40% of its gas reserves, the Middle East is the epicenter of the global oil and gas scene. Birthplace of Total, this region accounts for more than a fifth of our production. We have been a value-creating partner for the region’s countries and companies for nearly a century and are pursuing a strategy of excellence and innovation there.

We continue to meet the challenges of this major strategic region, pivotal to the planet’s key geopolitical and economic issues. We continually optimize our portfolio, both by consolidating our historical positions and by seizing new opportunities, as ADNOC Onshore and ADNOC Offshore in the United Arab Emirates, Al Shaheen in Qatar or Waha in Libya.

At 2018 ADIPEC, our booth highlights our commitment to safer, cleaner, more efficient, more innovative and accessible energy for the greatest number of people. Several major technological innovations, such as the acquisition of seismic data operated by the air through the Metis project, entering a major step of its development ; the Argos project putting robotics at the heart of the improvement of our operational and HSE performances, as well as Pangea III, the world's leading industrial supercomputer with a capacity of 25 petaflops (equivalent to 130,000 laptops).

The GAIA program (Geoscience Artificial Intelligence Applications) is also presented. This project is based on the disruptive approach of artificial intelligence to imagine the tomorrow's geosciences, allowing our experts in basins and oil fields evaluation to concentrate their skills on high added-value tasks.
