Christian Hubans, expert in geophysical monitoring of reservoirs
Christian graduated from the ENSG (French graduate school of geology) in 1978 and obtained the title of Doctor in Engineering from the University of Montpellier in 1981. Since 1980, he has been working as a geophysicist, as part of the Elf group initially then later, the Total group.
He started his career in the field of non-seismic geophysical techniques, applied both to mining exploration and to the monitoring of hydrocarbon reservoirs (1980-1987). After holding a position as business engineer (research) for five years (1988-1992), he turned back to the study of logging techniques applied to petro-elastic modeling based on drilling data (1992-1997).
This experience naturally led him to take responsibility for geophysical monitoring, mainly seismic, starting in 1998. His career progressed from specialist (2005), to advisor (2011) and finally to expert (2015) in the geophysical monitoring of reservoirs.
