Technical characteristics: Development of the Fairview, Arcadia, Roma and Scotta fields in the Bowen and Surat basins, located to the south-west of Queensland. After being processed, the gas is transported through an underground 420 km pipeline to the liquefaction plant on Curtis Island off the coast of Gladstone—Capacity of 7.2 mt/year. Second project in the world to produce LNG from coal gas. 3,200 wells will eventually be necessary. First shipment of LNG in October 2015.
