Jérémy Roeygens, Sustainable Development Officer, Total E&P Papua New Guinea

Holding a degree in anthropology, specializing in ethnobotany, Jérémy Roeygens has pursued a unique career path. He began his professional career with a number of NGOs before traveling to Yemen in 2004 to serve as the United Nations Development Program project manager for conservation of the Socotra Archipelago. He then became director of the French Cultural Center in Sana’a.

Jérémy was hired by Total in 2006 as Community Relations Coordinator for the Yemen LNG project. He then joined E&P’s HSE unit in 2008 as a Sustainable Development Coordinator, monitoring community activities in Nigeria, Yemen, Syria, Qatar, Iraq and Oman.

Following a stint as Sustainable Development Manager in Libya, Jérémy joined the Papua LNG project, initially in France as a Social Specialist in operations support and subsequently at the PNG affiliate in Port Moresby. After overseeing environmental and community impact studies for the affiliate from 2015 to 2017, he was appointed Sustainable Development Officer.
