Philippe Resseguier, Oil Architect

After earning a Master’s degree in Petroleum engineering from IFP and a Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lyon, Philippe started his career at Total in 1997 as a Drilling Engineer. He gained experience as a “roughneck” on offshore rigs for Total UAE, Total Myanmar, Total Venezuela, Total UK, and Total Iran before coming back to Total France as Rock Mechanics Engineer.

He then worked for Total E&P Angola as Rig Engineer on site and Drilling Engineer on Girassol and Jasmin deepwater projects. In 2003, Philippe was appointed Senior Drilling Engineer for Total E&P France in an integrated transverse group for Resources Valorisation Project (PVR). He worked as Head of Drilling Engineering for Total E&P Cameroon, prior to becoming Deputy General Manager for Drilling and Completion Operations at Total E&P Nigeria, then Head of Offshore Drilling Department for Total E&P Indonesia,and more recently as Drilling Manager for Total E&P PNG (Papua New Guinea).

Since 2017, Philippe has been working as Oil Architect on Block 32 Associations, Development and Planning for Total E&P Angola.
