Controlling OUR ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT AND PROTECTING BIODIVERSITY

We are a responsible operator. Therefore, we implement an active policy of avoiding, reducing, managing and monitoring the environmental footprint of our operations. Our environmental management approach systematically takes the impact of our activities into account. Water, air, soil: emissions are identified and quantified for each environment, so that appropriate measures can be taken to control them.

The same goes for biodiversity, since our activities may be located in sensitive natural environments. We deploy the mitigation hierarchy “avoid-mitigate-compensate” for the duration of a projects’ lifecycle. But our responsibilities as an operator do not end when an oil or gas field reaches the end of its producing life. We systematically conduct decommissioning, cleanup and site restoration.

We also aim at providing concrete solutions to help limit our impacts on climate change. We focus our action around improving energy efficiency at our facilities, and maintaining efforts to reduce direct emissions of greenhouse gases.
