Within the framework of the 2018 World Safety, Nicolas Brunet, Senior Vice-president Health-Safety, Environment (HSE) Exploration & Production, explains the challenges of safety for Total. Total’s core value, safety, ensures the protection of the women and men of the Group and of the contractors working for and with Total. Our safety performance also brings about operational efficiency on our projects.
Within E&P, our main safety challenges seek to protect our collaborators, partners and suppliers along all our activities. We are constantly improving workplace safety. We identify and prevent the risks emanating from our operations and transportation activities : by risk-mapping, by developing mitigation tools, and by continuously updating from experience learned. We also seek to improve the operational efficiency of our activities : it is by implementing strict procedures and by fostering a strong management culture that we ensure ever-improving safety. Finally, we want to share our safety culture with to our partners and external suppliers: the safety rules that we follow are demanded on sites that we operate and those that they operate with us.
