Rory Mackenzie - Expert in Subsea Control Systems

Rory is a graduate in electronic and communication engineering from Napier Polytechnic, Edinburgh, Scotland. He has worked for nearly thirty years in the oil and gas industry.

For the last ten years he has held the post of senior technical adviser in the technology department at Total’s Paris headquarters.

As an expert in the field of subsea production control technologies, Rory initiated the introduction of innovative technologies at Total Exploration & Production’s underwater park.


Projects & Various Collaborations:

Rory is Total’s representative on the API 17F and ISO 13628-6 European working committees. He also represents Total in many industrial standardisation projects:

  • Integrated Fibre-Optic Subsea Systems (IFOSS) ;
  • Subsea Electrical Power System (SEPS) ;
  • Subsea Fibre-Optic Monitoring Systems (SEAFOM) ;
  • Subsea Instrumentation Interface Standardization (SIIS) ;
  • Subsea Line Insulation Monitoring (V-SLIM).
