Sébastien Bouyssou, engineer and rotating machines specialist


After earning his engineering degree from Ensam (École nationale supérieure d’arts et métiers – Arts et Métiers ParisTech) in 1999, Sébastien Bouyssou began his career in the oil industry at General Electric Oil & Gas. Having spent several years working as a calculations engineer and designing centrifugal compressors, he was named manager of the Project Engineering team at GE Oil & Gas Thermodyn.


Since joining Total in 2009, Sébastien Bouyssou has worked as a specialist in rotating machines. He is responsible for managing projects, and selecting and overseeing the design of rotating machines. His work also covers developing subsea compression and the more general topic of high-speed integrated compressors on magnetic bearings.



  • Sébastien Bouyssou was in charge of selecting, designing and providing technical assistance for several projects during the design, execution and site start-up phases, including Ichthys LNG, Martin Linge and, more recently, Incahuasi.
